Link Monitor — A History
Link Monitor was originally developed by LCpl Sincioco on October 2004 for the Pegasus field exercise in Cherry Point, NC for
the United States Marine Corps. It has since become the premiere DSID and TechCon Link Monitoring tool in used in Al Asad, Iraq since 2005—helping to support Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Why Use Link Monitor 3.0?
Link Monitor 3.0 is the most sensitive network monitoring tool in the market and is able to detect network outage in real-time
even if it's only a fraction of a second. It logs link fluctuation using its SQL Server 2005 database. Reports are generated
using Microsoft Excel.
Is it SSH Compatible?
Yes, but it requires a third-party tool that cost several hundred dollars. Link Monitor itself is free, but if
your organization requires SSH please contact me before purchasing a third-party component.
